eh!GM 2006 — Saturday, November 25

Join SCOUT eh! members from Newfoundland to BC in calling for democracy at our eh!GM

Come to WINNeh!PEG, Manitoba.

In November 2004, over 50 SCOUT eh! members representing five provinces including Newfoundland and BC gathered in Oshawa, Ontario for the First eh!GM to discuss, socialize, and make the call for democracy. Here is a special opportunity for our western members to take part.

We must continue to show Scouts Canada's national leadership that our commitment to democracy will not diminish. We need action on Scouts Canada Strategic Priority Number 7 and we need it urgently.

SCOUT eh! will hold a conference and meeting, called the eh!GM, on Saturday, November 25, 2006, the same weekend as the Scouts Canada Annual General Meeting. We will have our own program for the eh!GM and attend open sessions available at the Scouts Canada meetings. In the late afternoon, we will parade to the Winnipeg Convention Centre to attend the Scouts Canada AGM. Afterwards, around the campfire, we will share the Scouting camaraderie that brings us together.

Scouting needs you to attend and add your voice to the call for democracy. All Scouts Canada members, not just SCOUT eh!, members are invited to join us. If you can only come for part of the day, that's fine. We are working on accommodation, details to be posted soon.

The weekend schedule is available. There is no charge and no need to register but we would appreciate an e-mail at info@scouteh.ca to let us know that you will attend. The meeting location will be at Booth College, 447 Webb Place, Winnipeg. We will be in Classroom D on the second Floor. The college is two blocks north of Portage Ave, near Colony St. The College is about eight blocks from the Convention Centre where Scouts Canada will be holding the AGM. Accommodation for those who do not mind sleeping on a Church Hall floor will be at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 59 Academy Road Winnipeg. The church is near the Assiniboine River at the end of the Maryland Street Bridge.

Scouts Canada Annual General Meeting

Scouts Canada will hold its Annual General Meeting at the Winnipeg Convention Centre, 375 York Avenue, Presentation Theatre, (second floor) on Saturday, November 25 at 16:30 (4:30 p.m.). Scouts Canada has invited all members to attend (see the August/September or October 2006 Leader Magazine). SCOUT eh! will be there to make the call for democracy. All Scouts Canada members are invited.

Mark your calendars and Be Prepared to join us in Winnipeg!
