Ted Claxton Elected Chair of SCOUT eh!

Fellow SCOUT eh! Members, Associates, and Friends,

I am pleased to let you know that I have been elected as the Chair of SCOUT eh!.

First, I feel that we all owe a debt of gratitude to our outgoing Chair, Mike Reid. He was at the forefront of the creation of our Association. His example is an inspiration to us all. I also wish to congratulate Don Connors who has been re-elected as the Secretary of SCOUT eh! and John Pickering who has been elected as our new Treasurer.

To reach the goals set out in our Constitution, we need to have a broad based Association. I urge every member to speak to their fellow Scouters. Let them know that there is an organization that is working to make Scouts Canada better, to give them a real voice and to ensure that Scouts Canada maintains its grass roots volunteer aims.

I need your help to make SCOUT eh! more effective. I am always pleased to hear from our members so do not hesitate to contact me about your concerns or accomplishments. We need good ideas about communicating with our fellow Scouters.

As I start my tenure as Chair I want to let you know that I am determined to seeing that we have a truly democratic Scouts Canada. I want to thank each one of you for your continued membership in SCOUT eh! as it demonstrates to our national organization that dedicated Scouters from all parts of Canada share in this determination as expressed in our Constitution. With your continued help we will make Scouts Canada a better organization.
