AGM-04

Saturday, November 27 is the date for us to make our voices heard. On this date, SCOUT eh! members will gather from across Canada at the Scouts Canada AGM to press for democracy.

Scouts Canada will hold its Annual General Meeting in Oshawa, Ontario (near Toronto) on Saturday, November 27 at 16:30 (4:30 PM). Scouts Canada has invited all members to attend (see the October Leader Magazine, page 9). SCOUT eh! will be there to make the call for democracy. We need you and your friends to turn up and add your voice. All Scouts Canada members are invited, not just members of SCOUT eh!.

We will marshal at about 15:00 (3:00 PM) in Durham College then parade to Camp Samac where the meeting will be held. It's an easy 15 minute walk. Bring your action songs! For those able to stay after the meeting, there will be time for dinner, socializing, and a campfire hosted by SCOUT eh!.

We have confirmed attendees from BC to Newfoundland. It will be a mini-Canadian Jamboree of Scouts seeking the right to vote.

The most important time to be there is during the Scouts Canada AGM. For those able to come for more of the weekend, there will be campfire on Friday night, Indaba/Scouters' Conference on Saturday morning, a general meeting of SCOUT eh! Saturday afternoon, a Scouts' Own on Sunday, and other opportunities to socialize with and learn from other members of Scouting from across Canada.

Camp Samac has room for over thousand people to camp, but Scouts Canada has chosen to close the camp for the weekend. SCOUT eh! members will be camping nearby at Heber Down Conservation Area where we have booked a group campsite for our headquarters. Members may also be able to arrange to stay in local Scouters' homes. Please for details.

We will be meeting at Durham College in the Willey Building, Room SW 209. Registration will begin there at 10:00 on Saturday.

Mark your calendars and Be Prepared to join us in Oshawa!
